What's a 'static' site, and why is it faster?
Many websites, like a typical WordPress site, build each page from a database when someone visits. A static site is built ahead of time, so there's no database to wait on and pages load quickly.
Why do you use templates instead of building from scratch?
It saves you time and money. There are excellent, fast templates already out there, so we start with one and customise the design, code and content to suit your business. You get a site that looks like yours without paying to reinvent the wheel.
What happens if I want to add a store later?
That's one of the first things we'll talk about. If you might need an online store or other features soon, we'll usually recommend starting on Shopify or Squarespace instead, because turning a static site into a store later is a bigger job.
Can I update the site myself?
Not easily, as there's no editor to log in to. When you need a change, just send it through and we'll make it for you. If you'd like to update your site yourself often, Squarespace is usually a better fit.
